Home for the Holidays

Happy holidays, America. With one of the biggest holidays approaching 'Thanksgiving', my question is, is the ceerful glee of the holidays, enough to minimize the sting of our nations economic crisis.

I'm willing to bet, that in the midst of our countrys transition, that it won't effect the 'trimmings' on the table, as we all join our friends and family, for a moment of thanks.

I will post different locations, in the grater los angeles area, that will host "free turkey giveaways, as well as missions, that will prepare food, for less fortunate families, in and around Los Angeles.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

SHOCKING

Today as I was checking my email, I read the AOL headline, accompanied by a photo of a 19yo miami male.

It read "teen kills himself live on internet."

This is truly shocking, and hits very close to home.

They said the teen had cried suicide before but nothing happened.

He broadcast his death live on a site called justin.tv, in front of multiple online users, some of which who even egged him on, and encouraged the 19yo college student to keep going.

The teen took pills, that were prescribed for his bipolar disorder. He was in his fathers bedroom, with the live feed still rolling. Viewers were even able to see as the cops walked in to get the teen. Still some viewers typed 'OMFG', and 'lol', internet acronyms for 'oh my god' and 'laughing out loud'.

The authorities were contacted, when one viewer contacted the sites web person, who traced the teens location.

This is just insane. I had a younger brother, only 15 years old, who was also a victim of such an act.

What can we do about issues such as this?

How can we prevent these tragic situations, that occur, when young Americans are crying out for help?

This also reminds me of the tragic death of the young 13yo girl, who hung herself, due to cyber bullying on myspace.

These things are preventable, what will you do as an American?

When will we all stand up as Americans?

ECCO HOLLYWOOD; INDUSTRY FLOP OR SIGN OF THE TIMES

In the midst of an economic crisis, yet another Hollywood hang has emerged. Ecco Hollywood, Hollywoods first and only eco-friendly night life establishment, ran by promoter Danny B and partners.

Ecco Ultra lounge, formally known as flopped A-list club Takio, has re emerged as an pseudo celebutant hot spot.

Ecco is outfitted with state of the art LED lighting., and eco friendly material throughout. The parking is also free, if you own an energy efficient car. See prius.

At the cusp of the cahuenga corridor, Ecco ultra lounge seem's like a promising bet, but will its eco-friendly concept, have tree hugging hipsters begging for more?

With the proper theme, proper owners, and proper location, does this equal Hollywood nightlife success?

We think not. With all fundamental elements 'thought' to be in place, the timing is just off.

While we all think an eco-friendly establishment is groundbreaking, in the numbers game, it falls way short of what it could be. Change is great and all, with new President-elect Obama ready to make his own changes in the white house, ecco fares far below industry expectations.

The whole project seems rushed, and the timming is off. While the venue is aesthetically up to par, the enviorment just isn't. (No pun intended). Here's why.

With maga clubs, and mega Hospitality brand SBE, with the market pretty much by the balls, the industry just isn't ready for a club that's outfitted for tree-hugging hippies, who care about the enviorment. While it seems like the right thing to do, it's just something we can't do.

"It's a bit of a catch-22", says 23 year old Sarah, who is a philanthropy major at USC. "At the end off the day its just another club. It will minimize our carbon footprint, and parking Is free for those with hybrids, but how many off us actually own a hybrid?. The concept is different, but it doesn't necessarily facilitate a green lifestyle. It seems like a venture that's not well put together in the sense that it doesn't truly follow the 'green way'." Says the 23 year-old grad student.

It's just a club, with a label on it, will the establishment help to forward the green lifestyle that its promoting?

Or is it just another cash guzzler, with pricey drinks, and a premature concept.

What do you think?

Let us know, by emailing comments, and or concerns to the editor.

Or get on the guestlist, and chexk out the place for yourself.

This is the first time we ever cared about aour enviorment, and its not in a good way.

SOCIALISM AND IT'S ROLE IN AMERICAN HISTORY

In the recent presidential electorial debates, there was much banter about Obama, and Socialism. Here is an interesting view on Socialism, and how it's played a part in our History.

"For decades the U.S. government has handed out far more welfare benefits to big corporations than to poor people. Companies like IBM, General Electric, Boeing, and others rake in over 100 billion dollars of subsidies each year. In other words, socialism has been a prominent feature of our so-called capitalist system for a long time. Recently, Karl Marx's influence has made even deeper inroads into the American way, with the government becoming part-owner of many banks in order to keep them solvent...

Will any of this fantastic largesse be extended to us regular citizens, like maybe in the form of nationalized health care?" Is the question posed by astrologist Rob Brezny, on his site "Freewill Astrology."

I can't answer that question either.
If you'd like to pitch in on the subject, feel free to email me, or drop a comment.

A HOLLYWOOD CONCUSSION

This past saturday, I went out. Went to ELEMENT NIGHTCLUB, THE KRESS, AND HUSH. HIT PAVEMENT. GOT CONCUSSION.

I'm still trying to figure out how this happened.
